The Firm's experience in the sector is varied and ranges from advisory work on software development to regulatory compliance and foreign investment and licensing issues to real estate and employment. Members of the Firm have advised software companies, internet start-ups and investors and in the process are well versed with issues relating to policy, e-commerce and foreign direct investment, provision of IT enabled services, registration and compliance, intellectual property protection, data protection, employee handbooks/contracting /incentive schemes and other legal issues arising in the context of doing business in the sector.

Further the Firm has a strong and vibrant telecommunication practice and its members have a deep understanding of all legislation, policies and regulations affecting the telecommunication sector. Members of the Firm have witnessed the advent of the privatisation regime in the sector and advised clients from the days when the National Telecommunication Policy (NTP) of 1994 was introduced and then the migration to the more vibrant NTP 99 (revenue share) regime. During the process, the Firm has advised service providers and project participants in the cellular, basic, national and international long distance services, internet and other value added services, on both regulatory and transactional issues.
