The Firm has a strong corporate/ M&A practice and a market leading PE/VC practice as part of which it advises on corporate, investment, regulatory, governance, operational and structuring matters across a broad range of industries including technology and start-up, media and entertainment, advertising, manufacturing, consumer products, life sciences, infrastructure, energy, telecommunications, mining, healthcare, financial services, e-commerce and other service businesses. The Firm’s clients in this sector include some of the largest global corporations including Fortune 100/ 500 companies, PE and VC funds. The partners of the Firm have over the last few decades closely interacted with a broad spectrum of regulators in India and have been an active participant in changes in the regulatory environment including relating to foreign investment. The Firm’s familiarity with the regulations and the experience in dealing with the regulators provides us an edge while advising clients on corporate/VC/PE/ M&A deals in regulated industries.

As regards our VC practice, the Firm’s lawyers advise various venture capital funds and have a significant experience in early and growth stage transactions. The Firm’s lawyers have also been advising various start-ups on their early (seed stage) fund raise efforts to late-stage mature financing rounds led by various institutional investors. In its corporate advisory, regulatory and compliance practice, the Firm regularly advises its clients including clients in the VC practice, across different sectors on the day-to-day issues arising out of the conduct of their business and compliance with law and governance standards including issues related to labour and employment; consents, permits and approvals; data privacy and protection; IPR; exchange control and company law; tax; anti-corruption, white collar and investigations; contracts and compliances under different sectoral regulations.
