Sukanya is an associate partner with the New Delhi office of Phoenix Legal and her areas of practice include private equity and venture capital investments, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate advisory including company law, foreign exchange and SEBI related advisory. Sukanya has advised clients in diverse sectors ranging from SAAS, fintech, ed-tech, agritech, e-commerce (B2C and B2B), manufacturing, insurance, and real estate etc.
- Advised Matrix Partners on its investments in various tech-based start-ups at seed stage and senior rounds of funding.
- Advised Exploring Infinities Edtech Private Limited (Bhanzu) on its fund raise in Series A round led by Eight Roads Ventures, along with B Capital and Lightspeed Ventures, and Series B round led by Epiq Capital, along with Z3 Partners, Eight Roads Venture, Lightspeed Ventures and B Capital.
- Advised Iron Pillar Fund on its investment in an entity engaged in providing sound based proximity communication, location based services, and customer engagement services among a multitude of other solutions, in its Series B2 funding round.
- Advised Surge Ventures III (a rapid scale up program by Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequioa India) for startups in India and Southeast Asia) on its investment in a software as service start-up helping e-commerce brands to market and sell products through chat based applications such as WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.
- Advised Truescale Capital on its investment in a business-to-business fast moving consumer goods wholesale startup.
- Advised Matrix Partners, Kalaari Capital and Bharat Innovation Fund on its exit from a company providing technology and analytical solutions for the purpose of prospecting, credit underwriting, risk management, customer management and delinquency management, customer verifications services, etc., by way of 100% acquisition by a fintech company.
- Advised Matrix Partners on its exit from a lifestyle brand pursuant its acquisition by G.O.A.T Brands PTE Limited.
- Advised Nippon Paints on its acquisition of the business of Vibgyor Paints and Chemicals by way of a slump sale.
- Advised entities engaged in the business of acting as third-party administrator, and their shareholders in relation to the sale of the entire shareholding of these entities to entity engaged in similar business activities.
- Advised an entity engaged in the business of stock broking in transferring its business by way of slump sale.
- Advised an US based company engaged in cloud computing on its indirect acquisition in India.
- Advised a Mumbai based company engaged in hospitality business in its acquisition of a Delhi based company engaged in the same line of business.
- Advised a German manufacturing company in transferring its assets housed in an Indian entity by way of slump sale.
- Advised a large US based private equity fund on its exit from an Indian company providing storage to petroleum and petroleum products.
- Advised China’s largest cement manufacturer on its bid to acquire a cement manufacturing business in India.
