Shivani, a partner based in the Delhi office of Phoenix Legal, is primarily involved in the restructuring and insolvency, banking and finance, and structured finance practices of the firm. She regularly advises a diverse clientele which includes insolvency professionals, insolvency professionals entities, lenders, joint lenders forum, bidders etc. in distressed assets space and Indian and foreign banks and financial institutions, investors, arrangers, and companies/conglomerates on a wide range of financing matters including cross border financings, structured finance, plain and syndicated rupee term loans, ECB facilities, ODI facilities, project finance, acquisition financing, real estate finance, and securitization transactions. She also does court/MCA approved schemes of amalgamations/arrangements and handles contentious matters related to her practice areas.
Prior to joining Phoenix Legal, Shivani was a partner with Luthra and Luthra Law Offices India and in past has also worked with Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co., Link Legal, and Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A. Shroff & Co.

- Advised Resolution Applicants/bidders on resolution plan/liquidation for GVK Power (Goindwal Sahib) Limited, Jet Airways Limited, McNally Bharat Engineering Company Limited, SKS Power Generation (Chhattisgarh) Limited and Asian Hotels (West) Limited.
- Advised the Committee of Creditors and creditors on the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP)/ liquidation of some large companies including Uttam Galva Steels Limited, Uttam Value Steels Limited, Uttam Galva Metallics Limited, Essar Power MP Limited, Hindustan National Glass Limited and Industries Limited, Ushdev International Limited and Abhijeet MADC Energy Private Limited.
- Advised Resolution Professionals on complex CIRP deals across sectors including Jyoti Structures Limited, ABG Shipyard Limited, Sintex-BAPL Limited, Indo Global Soft Solutions and Technologies Limited, Era Infra Engineering Limited, Monnet Power Company Limited and Educomp Infrastructure & School Management Limited.
- Advised the House of Abhinandan Lodha in respect of funding, of a joint venture (JV) with HDFC Capital Affordable Real Estate Fund, towards development of new generation low rise residential projects in India. The transaction involved issuance of debentures by JV to the investors.
- Advised a consortium led by DBS Bank Limited in respect of financing various overseas group companies of a prominent logistics conglomerate. The financing is credit enhanced by the Indian parent under Overseas Investment framework of RBI and FEMA.
- Represented several banks/ FIs and certain developers in respect of project financing transactions of various sectors such as: thermal power, hydro power, ports, road, hotel, wind, solar, etc.
