Meera is an Associate Partner in the New Delhi office of Phoenix Legal and is a part of the firm's Restructuring and Insolvency practice. With over 10 years of experience, Meera advises and represents a diverse range of domestic and international clients on insolvency and restructuring matters, including leading financial institutions, companies/ conglomerates, committees of creditors, resolution professionals, liquidators, bidders, resolution applicants, among others. Her practice spans both strategic advisory and complex dispute resolution related to all aspects of corporate insolvency resolution and liquidation processes.
She has represented clients in several high-profile and contentious insolvency matters before various benches of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), the High Court of Delhi, the Appellate Authority under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA), Debt Recovery Tribunals (DRTs), and other courts/ forums.
- Advised one of India's leading independent power producers in its capacity as a resolution applicant in the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) of Jaiprakash Associates Limited.
- Advised the Committee of Creditors in the CIRP of Reliance Capital Limited including resolution plan implementation and related litigation matters.
- Advised Power Finance Corporation Limited in relation to various litigation/ CIRP related advisory/ other dispute resolution matters pertaining to Gensol Engineering Limited and Blu-Smart group entities.
- Advising a leading global aviation training and simulation company and its Indian group companies in litigation matters related to the CIRP of Jet Airways Limited.
- Acting for the Successful Resolution Applicant in the corporate restructuring and litigation matters post the CIRP of GVK Power (Goindwal Sahib) Limited.
- Advising a flight training operator registered with DGCA on inter-corporate financing.
- Advising several group companies of a leading Indian conglomerate in relation to various litigation/ regulatory/ dispute resolution matters.
- Advised a Singapore-based alternative investment firm in connection with funding of the acquisition of a large corporate under CIRP by financing the prospective resolution applicant.
- Advised a prominent crypto exchange platform forming part of a Singapore-based global cryptocurrency exchange and digital asset platform in proceedings before the Appellate Authority under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.
- Advised a leading Indian bank on the creation and perfection of security interests over an aircraft in connection with a receivables purchase facility, including the applicable regulatory framework and transaction documentation.
- Advised a leading NBFC in relation to the acquisition of debts of prominent Mumbai and Hyderabad Based real estate companies.
- Acted for resolution applicants in the CIRP of Lanco Amarkantak Power Limited, KSK Mahanadi Power Company Limited, Raigarh Champa Rail Infrastructure Private Limited, KSK Water Infrastructure Private Limited, SKS Power Generation (Chhattisgarh) Limited, Sonata Realty Private Limited, among others.
- Advised a Maharatna Company in respect of merger/internal restructuring with a new acquired petrochemical company under insolvency resolution process.
- Advised the Committee of Creditors in the CIRP of Punj Lloyd Limited, Ballarpur Industries Limited, Metenere Limited, Indosolar Limited, Asian Colour Coated Ispat Limited, among others.
- Advised/ advising the Committee of Creditors and/ or creditor(s) in the CIRP of Premier Limited, Prabhat Technologies (India) Limited, Logix City Developers Private Limited, Manjeera Retail Holdings Private Limited.
- Advised and represented a prospective investor in acquisition of 21 solar power entities (Stride group entities) of Macquire Group.
- Acted for the Resolution Professional in the CIRP of Indo Global Soft Solutions & Technologies Limited, Sintex BAPL, among others.
- Advised a bidder in respect of acquisition of certain assets in the CIRP of Jet Airways Limited.
