Ashita is an associate partner with the New Delhi office of Phoenix Legal and her areas of practice include projects, energy and infrastructure and project finance.

Ashita focuses on power (both conventional and non-conventional sources), mining, oil and gas and public private partnership sectors. She has advised on a diverse range of projects pertaining to solar, wind, nuclear and thermal power sectors, liquefied natural gas and mining. She has also extensively advised on projects pertaining to the development of urban infrastructure.

  • Advised Petroleum Nasional Berhad in its acquisition of Amplus Energy Solution Pte. Ltd which is the holding company for the group's solar energy business inter alia including solar power projects (both rooftop and open access), EPC and O&M business etc.
  • Advised Acme Cleantech Solutions Private Limited in relation to the contractual framework for the construction and development of the second phase of a world-scale green hydrogen and green ammonia project in the Sultanate of Oman.
  • Advised STOA, a French infrastructure and power investment company, on its windfarm platform joint venture in India, intending to set-up over 2 GW capacity in India.
  • Advised a subsidiary of a Fortune 500 corporation engaged in providing cloud computing services in relation to the regulatory requirements for developing a natural gas power plant in Singapore.
  • Advised AES Corporation and its subsidiaries on the potential sale of 49% stake held by them in OPGC Limited ("OPGC Stake") to India's largest private power company. Thereafter, advised AES Corporation and its subsidiaries on sale of the OPGC Stake to OHPC Limited (a Government of Odisha nominee) pursuant to the Government of Odisha's exercise of its right of first refusal.
  • Advised Coöperatieve Rabobank U.A. in relation to a facility provided by lenders led by it, including conducting detailed legal due diligence on a 300 MW solar power project in Rajasthan.
  • Advised an Indian subsidiary of a French multinational company in relation to its proposed investment in a captive power plant in Haryana and obtaining grid connectivity for its existing solar power plant.
  • Advised SJVN Limited in relation to its acquisition of 100% stake in PTC Energy Limited owning and operating 7 wind power projects including conducting detailed legal due diligence on the 7 wind projects being implemented by PTC Energy Limited in various states in the country.
  • Advised an American entity on the Indian civil nuclear liability regime.
  • Advised NITI Aayog in relation to drafting and review of model concession documents – agreements, requests for qualification and requests for proposal, review of concession documents received from ministries/ government departments for PPP projects (including in the urban infrastructure and waste management space).
  • Assisted the Municipal Corporation of Thane in reviewing and finalizing the request for proposal and concession agreement for construction of houses for economically weaker sections and middle-income groups under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban scheme on PPP basis.
